Oddly enough it's a different parent now. Grew up with mad dad but I haven't talked to him in years now and I finally reconnected with my mom after years and years.

I have two before and after. My mother sends me motivational and "love yourself" type stuff when she isn't reminding me to get a job, which she didnt. She only means it in an "accept yourself as a man" kind of way though.
