I live in a semi-rural town in Michigan. It's not the most redneck place you could possibly find, but it's up there. My town has only 1 gay bar and I've gotten dirty looks twice from holding my ex's hand in public, to give you some context.
Anyway. I'm mildly ugly (fat) but my mom is always INSISTING that certain guys are "into me". Tonight we were at Burger King late at night when the place was empty, and my mom insisted repeatedly that the guy at the counter was giving me a look, as in checking me out. I don't believe her because I'm ugly, and even if I wasn't I am not sure someone would be so overt about their gayness in a town like mine.
So I'm asking: gay dudes who live in rural or conservative places, do you ever notice other dudes checking you out?

Sure, sometimes. I live in Oklahoma and my hometown has a population of about 700. I've even been hit on by a couple guys.

>Live in rural shit hole.
>Can't come out without being ostracized and berated by religious zealots.
>Only people that know I'm gay are my friends on Steam
Fuck the South. To answer your question. It would have to be a no.

>because I'm ugly
That's your problem right there.

No. I have not noticed anyone checking me out where I live.
A local university in my province did a study of depression of gay men in small towns, it found gay men in small town suffer depression equal to that of a person living in a war occupied county.

>Has even a single gay bar
>small town
