No teasing, just curiosity. If you are a christian, make clear if you are gay, lesbian, MtF or FtM.
How do you relate your faith with your life?
>>
>>7961693
CIS gay male.
Christian.
Jesus never said anything about not being gay. He just said no sex outside of marriage.
Unfortunately I'm catholic and the Catholic Church won't marry same sex couples, so I may have to have a Protestant marriage.
But yes, you can be gay and Christian easily.
>>
>>7961710

Read the bible. There are parts specifically addressing the "sin" of homosexuality.
>>
>>7961693
MtF.
Christian.
Nothing against it in the bible. Closest thing is eunuchs, and Christ specifically said they have a place in heaven. Personally, I think it's more important to practice spreading the Gospel and God's love to others than to worry about being LGBT. I'm a once-saved-always-saved Baptist though, so I can only give one interpretation.

Cultural Christian at the very least. Despite being pretty conservative in general I would probably be consider a Liberal Protestant. I think much of the old testament is metaphor, but believe in Christ.

The laws of the Old Testament do not apply to Christians.
We follow the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament.
>>

Not according to the Jew who wrote in the Mary Sue he called Jesus.
>>
>>7962537
Wtf are you talking about
>>
>>7962582
Jesus said that the old Testament is still all true and all law, every of it. If you'd ever bothered to read your bible even a tiny little bit, or not slept through your Sunday school classes, you'd know that.

Oh, who am I kidding. Of course you knew that, that's why you intentionally lied and pretended you didn't. You can't go a day without intentionally saying everything false that you can, it's expected of you as a Christian.
>>
FtM, bi, currently in the process of finding my faith but leaning lutheran protestant.

I only started feeling the pull of a christian God this past year, after having been out as trans and bi for something like six years. Raised in an agnostic and secular family, when I was younger I was politically antitheist.

The God I've been taught about and interacted with is loving and forgiving, creating human from his image in action and thought just as much as visage. We are thinking, feeling, critical and independent beings by our very design for that very reason. I am still figuring a lot of it out, but I cannot see genuine love going against the word of God, nor my transition which was never a rash decision and always a matter of me learning to understand my mind and body.

I pray, occasionally, but am still learning the customs of the church as I was never raised with them aside from holiday traditions. I also believe in science, so there's that.

I believe in a god, but not organized religions. I don't think any current or past religions have really captured what god really is. Not that I know any better, but that's how I feel. Faith should be a personal experience, not something that needs rules laid out by human-made organizations and texts. If god created everything or at least the processes that led to the creation of everything, then I doubt he cares about who you're fucking or if you change your gender.

I think god is ultimately loving and sometimes lends strength to those that ask for it. I try to do good knowing that he's watching and ask for help if I need it. Just my thoughts, I'm MtF

No Jesus did not say Jewish law still stands. Yes the Old Testament is true, but Jesus explicitly said he made a new covenant and the old Jewish laws no longer applied.
Hence why Christians don't get circcumcised.
I suggest you go and read your bible again.

>>7963332
Paul mentions sexual immorality in his Epistles, but idc. Paul didn't know Jesus and was an old Jew trying to appeal to the Jewish community.
Nowhere in the gospels does Jesus say you can't be gay.

I say I'm Christian, but my faith is all but dead. I don't know what to do about it.

As far as consolidating my gender with the church, I think I most closely identify with the more liberal Lutherans. I think the Bible should be treated as nothing more than the carriage of Jesus' word, and that it's best to ignore quite literally everything that wasn't taught by Jesus.

I don't like how something that was once for rejected and hopeless has been co opted by elites that want to exclude them. It's supposed to be a religion of humility and acceptance, not self satisfaction and superiority like so many churches and religious people are. It breaks my heart.

Does anyone else feel like one day you will become more open to some form of religion or the idea of god?

I was extremely religious as a child by choice but because of my conflicting views with the church I attended (they taught us that only people baptized are allowed into heaven, and that homosexuality is a sin) I stopped going and due to other traumas / after reading a lot about philosophy of religion I basically became agnostic, which I still am to this day.

Part of me feels though that if / when I am faced with death and assuming I have some time to prepare for it my position regarding god will change. This happened to my mother (who was pretty areligious her entire life until she came close to meeting her death), and I've read that it's a fairly common phenomenon for people to reconsider / reevaluate their positions towards god / when they are near death.

Does anyone else feel that when they are faced with some sort of terminal illness they might reconsider their opinions towards god / religion?

This is just due to fear of unpleasant afterlife... I'm sorry to say that about your mother but it is true.

>As in acknowledging its existence?

I'm not sure, death is obviously a universal but simultaneously unique experience for all of us, so maybe for some? Maybe it's also possible that the exact opposite happens, who knows? I just feel that the process of death is one of if not the most powerful experiences part of the human condition, so it would make sense that it could shake / shatter previous perceptions towards the meaning of life / god / religion / etc.

>That would conflict with my own views on the nature of God.

Gay male, Orthodox Christian catechumen (under instruction before baptism). I am not sure if my sexuality goes hand in hand with my sex addiction but I see my sex addiction as the one thing that keeps me blocked off from God's grace.

As far as the Church's teachings on homosexuality, I believe that sodomy ('lying with a man as with a woman,' I.e. dick in ass) is deemed an abomination. However, the Church says nothing about romantic affection and touch between men.

I have yet to ask my priest about these things as I told him about a month ago that I would prefer to become long term sober (abstinate from porn, sex, and masturbation) before baptism. Well wouldn't you know I quit my sex addict program and now I just want to be baptized and, I hope, healed through the sacraments of the Church.

No set religion yet but planning to convert to a branch of christianity, still deciding. Following Noahide beliefs currently. Waiting until Ive read 100% of both the Tanakh and Christian Bible and visited more Churches to decide.

Bisexual MtF and Buddhist.
Never had any conflict between my religion and who I am.

Siddhartha Gautama advised that people avoid sexual misconduct.
Firstly, sexual misconduct isn't said to include homosexuality or transexuality. Those topics weren't mentioned by early Buddhists and there are no historical examples of stigma against any early LGBT Buddhists.
The interpretation of what is sexual misconduct is an individual decision and not subject to judgement by any central authority.
Theravada and Vajrayana Buddhists who are now opposed to LGBT issues may claim it's religious motivated, but in reality it's a position taken from their culture's norms.
Also avoiding sexual misconduct is advisory, so obviously it's something to try and uphold but ultimately there's no sin committed that you're going to be told off for if you break that rule.
