Hitch hiking is sketch, but less so than trains. Keep your wits. Keep your bag separate and never just get in, always approach passengers side and don't get in until you make it clear to the driver where you're heading, who (even fake) you're meeting and when, who you're in contact with (even if fake), etc. Ask if they have weapons, explain (even if lying) you don't have any. I was fucking terrified of transition even after 3 months of hrt - but after that my tits started growing and I knew for a fact I'd made the right choice. 20 is still young relative unless your face is blown out male and your shoulders or whatever. This isn't some shit that fixes over night. Informed consent is where you say you want pills and more or less no questions asked it gets explained to you the risks and such you sign your name and that day you get on pills. It's the easiet way to keep medical stuff in order without doing it yourself (which you can do but why would you if the option is available to have a doctor). You gotta understand that HRT isn't a miracle but it is probably the best shot any of us have in this lifetime. You should go for it if you think you'd like to be a girl/woman like really prepared to live that way....

I came out to my dad around 20 or so, he was surprised but supportive. I came out to my mom at 29, she was surprised but supportive. Both times it was incredibly difficult for me, my parents had to start enumerating "is this what's wrong" to figure out what I was trying to say.
