I struggle with my degree but managed to achieve it, with poor grades. My objective was to work as soon as possible, so I lost weight—roughly twenty pounds—and tried to learn as much and as quickly as possible valuable knowledge outside of the curriculum. I had a lot or reading done on finance, analysis, derivatives, accounting and law. I also tried to learn foreign languages. It took me six months to finally get an interview with a worldwide corporation.

Once I got hired as a junior investment fund auditor, I focused on fixing my poor social skills and my appearance. I experimented different sports and finally learnt to appreciate boxing, got taught how to dress, lost more weight and had many of my coworkers to become friends. I tried to keep in touch with fellows from high school but it failed. I relentlessly tried to improve myself. I saved up money, allocated a lot of resources in learning languages and forced myself to stick up with my newfound reading habits. Eventually, I will move to Hong Kong as a junior investment banker soon.

What I discovered to be important is to make an efficient use of your time. It implies cutting down videogames, series, 4chan and overall browsing. It takes too much time. Nowadays, I play games like “Battlefield 4” three to four times a week, which I still think is a lot. Sleeping more than needed is also an issue, and the hardest one I had to overcome was simply my poor attention span. I couldn't get past five pages without rereading the same sentence twice. This is something I managed to train with more reading and less exposure to screens.

Most of it(aside from passing) is virtually unattainable for me because of how lazy and lacking willpower I am.
I'm probably not gonna kill myself since I'm not particularly impulsive. But I've been suffering from depression since I was 17, and while medication more or less helps keep daily suicidal thoughts away, I'm still pretty apathetic, sullen and self-hating.
The thought of having to live such meaningless and joyless life for decades more seriously scares me.
