I dont think they're exempt from being criticized for being entertainers. They can do what they want but I still see it as harmful for trans people. I guess the problem is there's no push in the other direction. I was never saw a drag queen say there was a difference. Like, don't get me wrong, I get the mindset of trying to be as close to cis as possible given I did that for a while but idk. It didn't really make me all that happy. It's very isolating, who do you even talk to about problems that may still stem from trans issues? Just because you're done transition doesn't mean you stop being trans, and in an awful lot of cases you have a lot of personal development to catch up on or a lot of trauma to work through. Transition is honestly the easy part.

I'm not gonna say that the best place to get this is in trans spaces, but it's awfully naive to think that you transition and you're done.

Funny thing is, I've kept getting invited to the local LGBT youth group events ever since I heckled the hell out of a couple gatekeeping groupie hons who held a very boring and oriented "conference" about trans care; I rarely go because the generational gap is quite real. I'm not really welcome at the trans group. The all-inclusive LGBT group is fine but given how high the turnover is, most of the newbies think I'm just another dyke.

Depends on the person. A lot of MtFs I know usually take on a motherly or mentoring role for younger transitioners. The ones getting into health care like counseling or pharmacy or medicine usually specialize in transgender stuff.

But it's usually pretty rare to hear about someone that is post transition since they usually keep it to themselves. I'm sure they have their outlets and needs and unique problems but I just don't see them in these places as much.
