My family inherited the land, and we actually own the entire shoreline. (Although technically the land is being split now with my mom's sisters)

Me and dad built the cabin from the ground up with trees from the land, and a chainsaw/ Alaskan mill. (Basically a frame/guide you put the chain saw in to make it act like a plainer)

This is a picture of what the view looking up the shore is like. The whole harbour was carved out by glaciers which is why all the rocks are cut at the same angle. I have snorkeled/ gone to the opposite side of the shore and the same quarts veins run in a line the whole way across it. Its all woods going the other way till you hit the dirt road in.

I actually went on a little photo reference hunt that day and can share some more if you like?

As for drama I don't think it will be an issue. Some of the other sisters (my aunts) started cabins after we built ours.

I decided to include one of my gf as well. (But at a distance to keep her anon) As you can see she is has a PREETY butch or masc style. She can also totally drink me under the table. She has a fem side too, but there is really no inbetween.

I was actually looking at a job a while ago that would have been at a 5 star wilderness retreat you could only get to by helicopter/boat and if I got the job I would have lived on site with provided meals for like 8 months at a time.

Never got a call back through, and would have have had to be away from gf for a lot of time even if I got it. Likely wouldn't have worked out.

Theres a bunch of seasonal jobs that have employee dorms. Not all of them are very good.
It depends on which dorm you are in and who your roommate is. If you come with someone or you know them you can room with them (the one im in now is 2 people to a room, like a college dorm) otherwise they put you in with someone at random.
It sucks sometimes because sometimes you get assholes that use your stuff without asking among other things. Also, the internet is stupid slow here and I cant use my phones internet because I dont get data out here ( on the bright side, my phone bill is like 12 bucks a month).
Its also fairly secluded here. In the summer you'll want to have a car (I dont). In the winter, you arent allowed to use your car and your are pretty much stuck in this place for like 3 months.

Not sure if this is the right place to post. But, I have a dilemma. For background, I'm on hrt but still in boymode, and crushing on this girl I met who is likely bi, and for sure trans friendly. We met at work, started talking, and as it turns out we're almost exact opposites astrologically speaking. We ended up having these really deep, sometimes heated and emotional, but not mean, discussions about everything. Like both a mirror and a shadow. I've never experienced anything quite like it, like where you want to get to know everything about a person. I didn't sperg out and tell her that or anything, but that's what it felt like.

So, I was leaving for another job, and during my last week she kept giving me this "so, you're gone at the end of this week, huh?" and this expectant look. On my last day, I gave her my number before I left since I didn't want to be pushy and put her in an awkward position by asking, and since I know she has issues with pushy guys. But, afterwards I was kicking myself for not coming out to her and being more honest. We had kind of danced around the topic a few times, but I never outright said it. What if she just thinks I'm some asshole guy and laughed about it with her friends or coworkers after I left? Like, "can you believe the nerve on that guy? Wtf?".

How long should I wait for a call/text before writing it off? God, I hope I didn't read too much into it.

I need someone to shake some grounded advice into me. This chick and I are in a "complicated" relationship. The whole time we've known each other it's been very one-sided. I've helped her, took her places, bought her things, did work for her...literally I will always drop whatever I'm doing to rush to her side if she says she wants something. If she's sad I'll think of whatever to do or say to comfort her. Just anything. On the other hand, if I ever asked her for anything she would just laugh and I know it. I am actually the person who made the thread (OP). I am really proud of it so far. The biggest piece of advice I have is really do your research on the company etc. There are a lot of places I have worked that SAID they had work from home but in reality just meant when they gave you too much work you could take the extra home or just straight up lied about it.

Looking at the status roster right now I am the only one online as usual. I am the only one that suggests improvements for our business etc even if they don't get accepted I don't see anyone else trying to improve things. (I am the only woman in the company. It is a start up, and the girl who got me in moved on to another job.)

Sometimes I think it is a sexism thing where they shoot down my ideas. I put a lot of research into them and provide backup to support my decisions but often I don't think they read them.

The main reason I am working my ass off right now is with the contract coming to an end I am freaking out about finances. My gf doesn't really make all that much so I am sort of the bread winner and she is flat broke atm. (To the point of selling things for bills. I tried offering to give her some money, but she is fiercely dependent, and truth be told I can't REALLY afford to it anyway but I would in a heart beat.)

Insert random bullshit comment about millennials and times being tough but it is legit. So I REALLY need to impress these guys to stay on for right now. :/

I understand the struggle at least, it's hard watching my spouse struggle as a freelance artist so I get it. I remain hopeful one day I can just be at home and take care of things, even if it means working crazy hours at home at the same time.

I'll definitely keep all of that in mind if I ever find the nerve to even go for it though, being the primary source of income myself I feel like it's too risky to even try without absolute assurance it'll be worth moving jobs. Hard to find anything that pays more than $13.50/hr when you're just a high school graduate.

Well given that sometimes I suggest something and then they raise a critique that if they had read the supporting text posts along with my design they would have seen I had considered, and found thing X to be a solution to problem Y. Or dismissed Problem Y entirely for reason Z.

There is one other guy who isn't even a designer technically. He is REALLY good at development and I respect that but often I put in a ton of work drafting a design from scratch, and get a poor reception. Then he tweaks something that I did with one small addition and suddenly everyone loves the design/his addition. It happens every time and he sort of ends up getting the credit.

But again given that none of them submit ideas from scratch I can't say they would get a different response. Just feels frustrating.

It makes me feel really sad that people's talent and effort gets wasted like that. I'm unemployed and I hope I won't end up in a job where that happens.
