This was me with a pony tail like 5-6 months into HRT. I think I pulled it off ok. (I am like 17 months now.)

I think people just find it less flattering. I find it a lot more practical for certain things though. Especially the longer it gets the easier it is to keep the pony tail together etc.

I should add that I also have a friend who is MTF who says all the time that unless her hair is up she doesn't pass/gets misgendered.

let me give you some advice. First of all don't put conditioner in your roots, it will make them flat.

Second of all, don't use a blow drier, instead tie your hair up so that the roots are pointing upward and let them dry that way. It will give you much more volume and your roots will look much less shiny
