There's a scene in this story I'm writing where there are two characters of different races (like as in elves dwarves etc), and the girl is a human, living in a heteronormative society, and the guy is a not human (still humanoid tho) from a homonormitive society.... And like... i guess the setting could be compared to maybe... the 60's or 70's? So I need a term that ISN'T a straight up slur for the girl to call the guy when she makes a move on him only to discover he's gay?
Uh... I probably already have too much details, but, if y'all can find anything that's NOT just a reference to gay sex, that'd be cool, because it seems like a lot of old terms are based on dudes fucking each other in the ass.
Poofter maybe?
lol maybe. rn i'm kinda leaning towards "flit" but like, idk
warhol used the word fairy a lot. idk if that's actually outdated but i never heard anyone use it irl
yeah, fairy's a good one, but the problem is that since this is set in a fantasy world it could be misconstrued to mean, like... a literal fairy.
