Most therapists would probably look at it as a huge mistake and instead recommend cognitive behavioral therapy and an understanding sexual partner. There's also the fact that AGPs don't fit in as well in their transitioned sex as HSTS do and they committ suicide more after transitioning as well. Some even regret transitioning. On average they're probably less happier overall after transition.
