They are not. Trans people have existed for as long as gay people have. It's a real medical condition. And no, therapy does not fix it, regardless of the race of therapist you go to. At some point in the future, we might be able to identify it and cure it at birth. But right now, all we have is transition.

Jews were originally extremely unsupportive of trans people, because trans people undermine their academic garble about gender being socially constructed. They're only behind it now because they think they can meme everyone into being trans, essentially.

ACTUALLY being trans myself, I can guarantee this isn't going to work in the long run. Gender IS biological, and runs too deep to really alter. At worst, we'll end up with a bunch of dysphoric cis people, and there will be a huge backlash.

Which will suck for trans people, but might be good for a re-establishment of a strong patriarchy.

Not them but I know that trans has existed for a log time but it seems strange that there's suddenly so many people that are trans. I can't help but feel there's definitely influence from pop culture which has made being trans become something of a cool and hip thing to be, kind of like how being depressed or bipolar was cool years ago. I don't doubt that being trans is a real thing but I feel like there are a lot of people that were influenced into it, not born into it.

So for that reason I think there does need to be a lot more counseling on the issue. A lot of doctors are too quick to agree and let things proceed.

I was always very well aware but in recent times it seems like more and more people are trans and it's statistically changed substantially. At my old highschool, there's apparently 2 or 3 trans people per class and I don't mean by year level, but I mean per class room.

People back in highschool were also part of the being gay fad, of which someone I was dating was gay, but then immediately after highschool suddenly wasn't. I believe trans is the next stage in that currently.

No, but I was missing a zero, I meant 0.03%, not 0.3%, so that's probably where our confusion is.

The smaller estimates ARE based on things like clinic counts and other stat analyses which take things like birth and death rates into account.

That's not necessarily what someone could mean by that (although it may be part of it).

It could also be that people who did not know about the disorder and who had no way to articulate what was "wrong" in previous eras now have access to information that allows them to identify their experience as "I'm trans."

Certainly I know that I thought I was alone with it as a child, and I was relieved to finally hear about "transsexuality" when I was 14-15, because then I had a name for what was wrong.
