Seems pretty dumb imho. I'm in favor of freedom as long as you're not hurting people, so I think people should be allowed to do whatever they want with their names.

I can sort of understand why people think that women should take husband's name even if I disagree, but WHY would you want that to be enforced by law?

Take your husband's name if you want, but other people get to choose. This is Kindergarten level shit, the other kids don't have to play the way you do and you don't go tattle to the teacher unless they're kicking down your sandcastle.
