I know this is a joke, but in our regular lives 99% of the time a guy you are friends with be straight. We romanticise straight guys because they are the only ones we "naturally" fall in love with, as opposed to going on dates. You basically skip a step in a relationship and that's why you think straight guys may be better than gay guys.

i've speculated on why this is in the past, given as hsts trans people (a subtype of trans people who are neurologically and etiologically similar to gay people of their natal sex) are universally very attracted to heterosexual people of the same natal sex, and not particularly attracted (on average) to gay ones
i think the gay male interest in straight men is part of the neurofeminization inherent in male androphilia
i'd be interested to know if it correlates with other effeminate traits -- that is, if fems are more interested in straight men than mascs are
on the lesbian side, masculinate traits do correlate with attraction to femininity (you get more butches into femmes than into other butches)
