It's hard to say because almost the entirety of their popularity comes from people shipping them. So of course they play it up to make an easy living, but then again before they were even "famous" (kek) they had a lot of internet activity that was questionable.

There are tumblrs dedicated to gathering all the "evidence" for their relationship, and they make a pretty damn convincing case.
I personally think they're dating.

From all the evidence, it honestly looks like they're probably together.
