I've come to terms that I will never be able to HTR/SRS due to age/genetics. Is crossdressing a viable outlet? Has anyone else here done this, how does it work? Should I just wait for VR?

I'd say you're a transvestite, crossdresser applies to transvestites as well, but transvestite is more specific. Crossdressing doesn't have to be sexual. You're a crossdresser and a transvestite.

Now i suppose it varies from person to person as to wether being a transvestite is AGP or not.

For some wearing panties is enough, or even hosiery, the need to present as female isn't there or part of the arousal. However if in your case you get off more to the part of looking like a woman with makeup and wigs, then that puts you closer to the AGP definition.
