Hello /lgbt/
What is your finger ratio and your sexual orientation?
Bi male reporting in. My index and ring finger are nearly the time.
With about 60% accuracy your digit ratio can predict your orientation and I'd like to put that to the test.
Pic is my digit ratio.
>>7515810
straight guy (female)
0.86
also, given it's a common misconception here, i should point out both men and women usually have index fingers shorter than rings
male average is about 0.96, female 0.98
>>7515860
WAIT MY INDEX FINGERS ARE WAY LONGER WHAT DOES THIS MEAN
>>7515872
low prenatal testosterone exposure
ethnicity might also be a factor but i forgot what specific ethnicities were involved in the study finding that
>>7515872
That you are a girl?
Honestly most girls I've met, cis and trans, have a longer index finger, despite the "average".
>>7515872
If you're a guy it could mean you're gay or bisexual.
>>7515810
ftm straight
ring finger is visibly longer than index, no idea about ratio in numbers
What does it mean?
for those who don't know:
if both fingers are equal in length, or the index is longer than the ring finger, you had lower testosterone levels during development
meaning if you were amab, you are more likely to turn out as a transwoman, or a gay or bi guy
and meaning if you were afab, you are more likely to be cis and straight
if your ring finger is longer than the index, you had higher testosterone levels during development
meaning if you were amab, you are more likely to be cis and straight
and meaning if you were afab you are more likely to turn out as a transguy, or a lesbian or bi woman
hope that helps
Digit ratio being linked to prenatal testosterone exposure is a pretty well-researched topic and digit ratio appears to be a fine approximation of prenatal test exposure across mammals.
The link of this to sexual orientation is based, implicitly, on the assumption that gay men are somehow "like women." Research on it is heavily weakened by the fact that nearly all work on the topic uses faulty and outdated methodology (such as gathering a sample at a gay bar, essentially convoluting sexual orientation and outness) to the point where I'd say its impossible to draw a conclusion about things.
Wait do you measure the total length of the fingers or how far they protrude from your palm?
>>7515928
Lol don't take it too seriously my friend, the digit ratio is only an indicator of testosterone exposure.
>>7515942
fffffff although my index finger protrudes like a centimeter past my ring finger if I measure them from the bottom crease to the tip my ring finger is longer. 0.96 ratio.
>Confirmed for not trutrans
my index and ring finger are the exact same length, I'm a bi trans woman
>>7516015
Wait apparently 0.96 is typical for women and 0.94 is typical for men
>confirmed for trutrans
what a ride
1,04 and 1,02

>>7515911
those are some dirty ass nails
and moisturise your hands, are you 50?
>>7516040
wait nvm I measured wrong I'm 0.951
>confirmed not true trans
>>7515810
Bisexual MtF here
My index and ring fingers are exactly the same length but I'm not sure what that says about me or what's the numerical representation (1 or 0.5, I'd assume).
>>7515919
>if both fingers are equal in length, or the index is longer than the ring finger, you had lower testosterone levels during development
YAAAY I'M TRUTRANS MTF!
>>7516243
Well I mean duh.
I feel like this generation is so fucked up, like they'll be on their deathbed surrounded by their spouse and kids being like "honey do you... do you think I'm really trutrans?"
>>7516260
>"honey do you... do you think I'm really trutrans?"
>"I have to admit something to you... you were never trutrans."
>GASP
>"we faked the results of the test"
>GAAASP
>"it didn't seem to matter that much and it made you ha... honey, honey, oh god he's stopped breathing"
>Doctor: "He's dead"
>dies a second time
>>7516260
>>7516270
Fucking lol.
The really messed up thing about this is that if you look at the chart on Wikipedia there are a lot of women with male-like ratios and a lot of men with female-like ratios so the result is not actually that valuable.
Won't lie that I'm upset it turned out I'm a 0.951 though. Every little bit of validation helps. Having a "good" digit ratio would legit make my day.
>>7516239
Can you post a pic of your hand?
>>7515810
exactly 1.0 on both hands, bi male, prefer to bottom
>>7515810
What do you think I am
>>7515810
What am I?
Normie?
>>7516425
GAYYYYY
>>7516495
m80 you can't even tell from this side you have to measure from the crease.
0.92 bi-romantic, dick-sexual
>>7516502
nigga, have you SEEN men's hands?
look at that ring finger, now look at yours
you love the cock
>>7515810
>Femboy/mtf in denial
>1.05
How bad is that?
>>7515810
Mtf, straight - index is slightly longer than ring finger.
I remember learning about this in health class in high school and getting called a girl because my index finger wasn't shorter than my ring finger.
>>7516833
Not that person. My index finger looks longer than my ring finger if I look at it from the back side but if I measure it properly it is shorter than my ring finger. You gotta measure from the crease.
>>7516874
almost everyone has a longer ring finger than index finger
except for me, they're almost exactly the same length measuring from the crease
>>7517407
Same. Are you bi?
>>7517440
yeah, bi, but more of a bottom
>>7515919
What does it mean if my right index finger is equal but my left ring finger is longer?
>>7517553
Can you post hand pic?
>>7517588
it means the knuckle is in a different place and you should measure from the crease to the tip of the finger
you'll find they're almost exactly the same size on both hands, just in different positions on the hand
>>7517599
>you should measure from the crease to the tip of the finger
But I did?
Right hand: .986
Left hand: .973
>>7517659
that's literally 1% difference, not a big deal
>>7517591
bi ftm here
>>7515810
How do you measure this? My digit ratio looks different when my palms are up compared to when they're down. Should the fingers be together or spread?
>>7518283
measure from crease to tip with a ruler
bi eunuch reporting in
seems about equal
Tranny here, my index finger is longer than my ring finger
>>7518673
Whatcha cookin, boi?
>>7522742
Potatoes that I boiled and then fried in a pan and mixed with eggs and bacon. Was pretty good. All I ate that day lmao. I can't even eat over 1300 calories or so per day without gaining weight, castration #rekt my metabolism.
MtF
Both 1.0
androphilic mtf
digit ratio seems pretty accurate
>>7523016
fingers and the nail shape (narrow not wide) look pretty feminine tbqh
i believe it, f a m
how feminine is the rest of your bod though? do you pass?
>>7523060
6 mo hrt, pass unless i open my mouth
5'11, shoulders 1" wider than average female, large hands and feet, everything else is in the average female range, even lips, brow, head size and hips
>>7523117
brow as in i have no brow bossing
never had facial hair either, and i started at 18
digit ratio really does seem to be an accurate way of measuring approximate hormone levels
>>7515860
Did a few measurements
Bi male, can't decide if I'm trans or just fucked up in the head.
0.98 ratio.

The high ratio chart is eerily accurate.
