You can do other things besides going to a party which is something awkward people tend to dislike. You can go to a museum or have lunch together. The problem with getting to know people while drunk is that you only get to know them while they are drunk. The alcohol makes them friendly towards you but the feelings will fade the next morning. It's quicker and better to do it sober I think. Atleast that's how i do it and I only make genuine friends.

I do get out and stuff, I try not to let my issues get in the way of my life as much as I can. I'm working on a screenplay atm.
