The whole reason why a trans rapper would have so much power is the protest of it. The members of society actively being hidden away then breaking out and preforming is a protest of some level. Part of that is the risk of hate crimes, its part of the territory, and it sucks, but if you don't want to put yourself through that (which is understandable) then I suggest you stay out of the rap game.
