does it matter?

It used to be GLBT before feminism poisoned us. Now L goes first because muh women.

It's still GLBT in Spanish and other languages because it's easier to pronounce.

I had a feeling it was because women were so petty they needed to be first in an acronym.

LGBT. GLBT is for autists.

Because "el-gee-bee-tee" sounds better in English, grouping the "ee" sounding letters makes it pleasing to the ear.

"Gee-El bee-tee" makes it feel disjointed. I can't even bring myself to type it hyphenated into one thing because my instinct is to make it two "words".

While it certainly sounds much better, I'm pretty sure the actual reason is that lesbians were mad that they got second billing in GLBT.

Apparently in Sweden it's just HBT (Homosexual, Bisexual, Transexual/gender) which is way fucking simpler. But I suppose if we did that, then instead of fights between gays and lesbians, we'll just have fights between people who think it's pronounced "ayche" vs people who think it's pronounced "hayche" so I guess it's moot.
(It's also "ayche," fight me).

This. I don't really care if feminism did it, it makes sense for ease of pronunciation. It's easy to get on board with. If feminists wanted to make it unpronouncable trash I doubt it would have caught on much more than cancer like womyn which are just used to identify people as morons without needing too much interaction.
