There are clothing trade blogs on tumblr. A good place say you're looking for a binder perhaps.
I got my first binder second hand from a person on tumblr. I paid $20 for it I believe.
This was about 4 years ago and back then, binders costed around $60-80. My deal was worth it at the time.
But nowadays many companies are selling binders. The competition and demand for binders has helped binders drop in price down to about $30 for a trustworthy binder.
LONG STORY SHORT
I suggest you just purchase one online.

I got my newer binder from http://gc2b.co/
It is really trustworthy. It is the best flattening binder according to many many testimonies. I believe it's run by trans men.
The binders are $33-35 and there are tons of options on color.
I suggest buying one from them. It would be worth your money. It would be a lot better getting a nice new one over a second hand one.

don't get a gc2b binder, they're identical to ones you could make with thrift store materials for $5
biggest binder sellers are underworks, t-kingdom, and lesloveboat, the latter two work better for smaller chests
there are also free binder exchanges on tumblr and the big brother binder program that's been running for 15 years

I would suggest you not make your own. If they aren't made right, they could injure you.
Definitely buy one from a trusted site. So do your research too.

i'm not suggesting making your own, i agree it's a terrible idea
but gc2b binders are greatly overpriced for their quality
