Within a couple of years, I'm hoping to start my own webcomic that I've been tossing around for quite a while. What I'd like to know is, what do folks want most from a comic with an LGBTQ+ cast? Specifically, what would you want to see from queer characters in a high fantasy setting?

Are there any suggestions, contributions, concerns, etc anyone might have? I'd really love to get feedback from a wider circle, not just my handful of artist friends who know about this project, haha.

Specifically for genre fiction, since you've mentioned high fantasy:

Give me characters that are just like everyone else, except they're queer. Don't make their story revolve around how super gay or trans they are, just give them a story, give them a significant other or love interest, and send them on their way adventuring.

I am tired of coming out stories and tragic gays. Give me heroic queers, confident queers, queers that are more than the sum of their parts.

It's not all they are about, it's not their only character arc, it's not the be all, end all of character-traits.

Decide on how you want them to behave: Are they flirty? If yes, would they flirt with anybody for fun and laughs or just with those they are actually attracted to?
