Why do no gays exist in the southern hemisphere /lgbt/?

Southern hemisphere consists of Africa, South America, and Australia. In most countries in those continents besides Aus being gay is at best frowned upon and at worst a crime. It's not surprising there's not a lot of openly gay people there.
