you will find that studies showing increases or steady risks are cherrypicked and often don't actually show that (like the famous 'swiss study', which shows absolutely nothing of the kind when you read it)
the balance of evidence shows transition to be a viable treatment and alternatives to be non-viable

Even if that is true, what point are they trying to prove exactly? Do they think trans people are just going to say, "Well, if I transition, I will likely kill myself, so I guess I'll stay a guy/girl".

That's not how it works. I guess the cis people who repeat this over and over again just don't get that. If we can't/don't transition, we're likely to suicide. So we are forced into a transition or die situation. So we attempt transition. For some of us, it succeeds. Those are the survivors. For others, it doesn't, and they'll never be able to pass. So they go from being suicidally depressed about being trapped in the wrong gender to someone who is suicidally depressed trapped in the wrong gender while also being a social pariah, so they suicide. Being a non-passing trans person is the very definition of a lose-lose situation.

So let's divide trans people into two groups, those who will pass, and those who won't. Let's say half pass and half don't for simplicity. If 100% of trans people attempt transition, 50% suicide. If 0% of trans people attempt transition, 100% suicide.

So there's no point debating this. We have to and we will attempt transition regardless of the chances of it ending in our demise by our own hand.
