Pretty much my entire persona has been influenced by the fact that I'm gay.
My personality and my ideals changed drastically over the years it took me to realize and fully accept and grow comfortable with the fact that I was gay.

It's not like it was the only deciding factor, but it had a part in pretty much everything and was one of the biggest factors for sure.

The negativity of my personality was massively amplified by my faggotry.
And straight people only make it worse.

i think i also became a bit isolated. i was a university bloomer but i believe that not sharing romantic interest and participating in such gossip kind of shut me out in junior/high school and it's like i'm still catching up in that area.

realizing i probably had the gay made me rethink my life goals hard. i think this was the biggest impact. some things that i expected to happen (like getting married and having kids), i threw to the side, and i started redefining my goals in terms of academic and occupational success instead. it could be because i'm female (lesbian) but i suddenly saw myself as a stronger, more independent person. like i could suddenly devote my entire life to my occupation. it could be a way to cope with the possibility of being forever alone, but i'm not completely sure about that. it could also be an effect of the fact that realizing that there is actually a type of person (i.e. a woman) that i could enter a romantic relationship with made me more whole as a person, as if i was missing core jigsaws of a puzzle before.

also, before, i used to be very strong in favor of gay rights. now, i'm not saying that i am completely against it. rather, my own guilt and shame makes me think "it's probably best for me to not have kids, maybe it's bad for them" despite any kind of research/media coverage (whether positive or negative), and the fact that i'm good with kids. in a way i'm secure about liking women and feel confident about it, but at the same time i feel shame. i believe it will diminish if i get a long-term gf though.

finally i'm from a lowpop european country, and being gay has made me consider emigration in order to expand the dating pool. not too concerned with marriage etc being legal as long as there is no open discrimination
