whytf would you get a tatoo of the stupid quadratic equation? It doesn't even make sense because none of the variables are defined by convention. This isn't physics.

If you want a neat formula tatooed, get the gelfond constant which states:

e^π = (e^iπ)^-i = (-1)^i

thereby linking the two mainstream transcendental numbers with the imaginary unit . Now that's beautiful.

Also I'm think about getting a tatoo in the style of pic related, but I'd have to find an artist who could pull of the perfection that the japanese masters put into their lineweight and brush work.

Any opinions?

For the reasons I stated. Managing shades of grey is hell, the background will awkwardly spawn out of your back and will surely be less detailed than expected, and the decrease of quality will make any non-straight shape (e.g. the upper bird) barely recognizable. Get a simpler tattoo, something that doesn't require too much details and rend nicely in two tones.
