Depends on the individual. I'd probably be considered AGP by this board simply by virtue of being a transbian, but the most I've done as a suicide attempt pretransition was overdose on sleep meds and slash my wrists as a cry for help. Apparently those two are the "female" ways to attempt suicide.

My guess is that it's highly dependent on upbringing, gendered socialization and access to any objects that can be used for self-harm. A factor to consider is that, generally, females are coddled a bit more than males from birth and more care is placed in ensuring their safety and comfort while males are expected to harden up as they age. This has a significant effect on how they each approach pain, self harm and psychological distress.

I dont see why an ftm would ever be sad about much of anything. They all literally pass while almost no transgirls pass. Ftms dont even face any social stigma either. They get raised with love and acceptance and anything they do is okay. I think people attempt suicide based on how they were treated growing up. People treated like girls growing up will attempt more often because they are used to getting noticed when they cry for help while people who are treated like boys growing up are used to be ignored and being told to fix their own problems. I've no doubt that if how boys and girls were treated growing up that boys would be more likely to make "cry for help" suicide attempts.

I expect no one to care about this type of post here. Sorry I type a lot.

I'm mtf. I have tried to girl style (I guess... Wasn't something I even realized until too late) neglect myself to death.

I chugged so much water (also spironolactone is a diuretic I responded badly too for HRT) over the course of a month (perhaps a gallon/day maybe more on the worst days) and biked MILES compulsively and ate like literally anorexic levels of food for MONTHS.

In October, some shit went down where due to a sodium depleted body (140mg being about normal if I remember what they say correct) to 117mg (110 cardiac and brain death) where I went into a delirious nervous break down, and blood puked and went into seizure and for only a few moments stopped breathing.

This wasn't necessarily a suicide attempt. Idk I really don't.... It got so bad because of how well I hide my numerous problems including things like undiagnosed (until recently at 24 and it took months to get but didn't tell parents) autism, possibly some type of "unspecified" mood or other disorder that really makes me do horrible things to people who don't deserve it.

So going into October, I don't actually remember anything before the 14th. I woke up in the hospital on a suicide watch (not a psyche unit) triage center 4 days after my worst panic attack maybe some type or psychiatric event, maybe suicide attempt being masked.... On the fucking 24th. So everything for a week leading up is a blur. I left hospital the 28th. Horrible.

Girls online warned me something was wrong in my speech center. You can probably see the way my brain organizes things is weird. However, I'm usually pretty on point with my story data dumps and don't often miss accuracy in my relay - it's just strange thinking patterns.
Grammar too, but maybe because I'm a writer? I can't tell anymore.

So idk if I tried to kill myself.
