I would transition, only if I knew I would pass. Every time I start to romance about the idea, I do a search for before and after photos. The face looks great on a lot of these girls, but a full profile picture will show they still have the skeletal frame of a man.

Nah, it is not going to happen. It is often on my mind, but I have lived a long time already, and will continue to do so.

I already suffer from social anxiety, and it wins out everytime. There is also the consideration of other people who I love dearly and it would crush them.

If I ever did transition, I would be a hon, I would be homeless, full of anxiety, and it would be horrible..

The only reason I would transition, would be if I could pass. Perhaps in another twenty years, technology will progress to the point of making it a reality, but for now I am stuck playing the part society wants me to, at the best of my capacity.

There do exist Asians who DO have it really easy, but Asian males do not all have an androgynous bone structure. I'm glad I never went through with it. It is more than clothes, it is more than jewelry or makeup. If I ever transitioned, I would be a mockery of what I feel like inside, each morning I would wake up and look in the mirror only to see a distortion of what I feel. There was a recent thread on the leddit where someone asked whether this was really true because people kept saying it on 4chan and the reactions were hilarious. Sub-dermal E implant -- They keep your levels at a fairly high range for several months and then taper off over a long time. Once you have a few placed in you'll only need to get an additional one every 6-12 months. I'm in Australia and I pay ~$200 for mine, so probably less expensive than if I was doing injections or tablets.

Anti androgen -- Any kind of GnRH analogue (Lupron, Zoladex, etc.) i.e. the 'puberty blockers' that they give to trans kids. These can be extremely expensive if not covered by insurance (see: $1000+ per implant that lasts for several months).

I agree with you on a similar basis. When I was young (11/12) and felt like a woman the only exposure I had to trans folk were drag queen deep voice jokes that the media and television portrayed them as. So I wasn't aware that there was a possibility of me ever resembling normal. Had I known what I had known to today I probably would have had a completely different life. But its not fair to compare people who have a hard time passing to the jokes the media portrays trans people as. As the people you refer to as "hons" are just as much a victim of the shit show the media is.

It's true. When I googled "transsexuality" or any related term, when I was a teenager, all I found were hons. Seriously, who wants to be one of them?! Of course these people scared me away from transition. I finally started transition in my 20ies and simply stayed in boymode until I managed to pass for most of the time. I'm not against non-passing people. Some mtfs just look androgenous or do not pass on every occasion. That's not what I expect. What I expect is that they at least show some self-consciousness and effort not to scare people away.
I once met a hon here on /lgbt/, who said that millenials should be thankful because of what old trannies achieved... fucking delusional person. I owe them nothing.
