4chan is like the polar opposite to tumblr. Here we go on boards with complete anonymity encouraged, but there it's isolated island communities about a single blog. Culturally, 4chan is just about the meanest and most right leaning place on the internet, while Tumblr is often very hugboxy and extremely liberal. It's no wonder they don't get along.

Up until the last few years 4chan was fairly politically moderate overall, though generally pretty anti-authoritarian. Hell, many of the smaller, hobby-related boards tend to lean left on the rare occasions that it comes up. Even when people make political compass threads here on el jibiti the majority tend to be left-libertarian.
There's a big difference between saying "nigger" or "fag" for shock value and the genuine racism and homophobia of the /pol/lutants, even luggage lad got sick of dealing with them.
