I used AMAB honestly to try to impress you with my sociological awareness, and really because it's kind of a brief. I'm a weird kind of alt-SJW that is aware of all the "proper" terminology and stuff but is too cognitive to think that all the terminology really matters much, and honestly a lot of trans/SJW stuff is really cringey and disagreeable to me

So anyway, for appearance, I'm 5'8 at 135 lbs. I'm not tiny, but I'm not big at all for a trans girl. I have medium length dark brown hair and pretty blue eyes. My belly is pretty flat, and my hips are maybe a little wider than my shoulders. I don't pass, but like I said, I'm 100% boymode right now, and even though I'm 24, people are always skeptical to let me into a bar now. Also, I'm only a few months on hormones, so my cuteness can only go up from here

Lots of people think using "assigned" is stupid rather than just saying "male" or "female." Assigned really is more appropriate for people with physical intersex conditions, as it implies an ambiguity that usually is not there in trans people desu

As with anything, it depends on your metric. In this particular case, I think it's completely fair to use chromosome presence as a metric. Here, XY and XX denote normative states where there is no ambiguity, but variants (XXY, XXX, etc.) make the "AMAB" or "AFAB" labels appropriate.

id argue it's just as appropriate when applied to any trans person, your gender was incorrectly assigned at birth, so the term still works.
