Here's why:

Men have been forced into the disposable sex roles since the dawn of time.

Since only Females can give birth, Men and Women had their gender roles divided based on "Women being reproduction centers" and "Men being disposable defenders".

Women got shitty sheltered jobs, Men got shitty dangerous jobs. And since leadership meant risk (larger animals, enemy tribes), leadership was too much of a risk for the female womb.

The only reason men have been leaders throughout history is because men have been forced by nature into a body guard gender, since leadership had a high rate of death.
