Eyeshadow requires practice and good color choices to look good, otherwise yeah it definitely looks tacky or draggy. I usually wear at least a little but I keep it extremely subtle.
For real though, eyeliner isn't super fancy, I find it easier than eyeshadow if you have one that goes on easy, takes almost no time to put on. Worth a try if you're wanting to mix things up a bit with low effort.

On that note, how the fuck do you put on mascara? I can't even with mascara, it always clumps and shit ;~;

Can you recommend a good eyeliner? All I have at the moment is this crapy pencil that my sister gave me which I can't imagine helps.

As far as mascara goes it's basically just practise. I used to take forever and clump and miss my lashes and get it on my face all the time but after a while it just sort of clicked and now it's really quick and easy. Apparently my lashes are quite long naturally as well though so that might help.

As for eyeliner I've been pretty happy with my kat von d liquid liner, but I don't have a ton of experience to draw on given I only started wearing it a few months ago. It has a felt tip and gives very sharp lines. Generally I fill in under the lashline with black eyeshadow as well.
