There'd probably be more problems desu. Imagine people becoming dysphoric every time they touched the wrong temperature of water. I don't think it would be very pleasant to most people. At least not as a long term thing.

I consumed that kind of media as a kid because I was still trying to figure out who I was back in the 90s and early 00s. Back then I didn't consider transition a possibility because the resources on the internet were shit. Stories like that distracted me from reality and let me believe for 30 minutes at a time that my desires were possible. Now it's just nostalgia, because that's some of the stuff I grew up with.

For trans people I feel there'd be less problems, but for cis people it might bring up dysphoria in them because the sudden and unwilling change of genders when they touch water
