This 'transition' to me is just a game really, to see if I can do it.

Idk, it's not the worst thing, I think the standing for 8 hours is really what's going to do it in for me. Idk, I'm at least pretty much guaranteed hours until after the Christmas rush is over, so I'm likely to stick with it until then but I hope that i can find something that at least pays better by then. I really enjoy learning about cool new programming-related concepts and playing around with them, but once I reached the point where my programming classes actually got hard, and I started getting assignments that take like 15+ hours to complete, it started to just feel tedious and I got a little burned out.
I think part of it is just that having to write non-trivial programs takes getting used to, but still, I dunno.

There are definitely times when I'm writing something for an assignment and I think "huh, this is actually pretty cool", but like I said, it can also get really tedious and boring.

Idk, I guess fundamentally there's not much of a difference, both are sort of jobs that would be a bit of a holding pattern while waiting for something better.
I'm sort of unsure what resources are the best for learning the mean stack, it seems too new to really have the number of resources available that some person self teaching could use like the lamp stack would, but I'll probably track down a book that will help.
My brother in law does webdev but couldn't offer a lot of help, given he only uses php.
