I've heard that before. Although, it was presented as "autistic individuals are more likely to be LGBT" rather than the other way around; I'm not sure if it makes much of a difference. But it makes sense to me: the autistic brain is wired differently, so to speak, thus it's not really surprising to hear that it appears more frequently alongside other neurological differences.

i wonder how strong it is for individual segments of LGBT? the t, specifically ftm, definitely has overrepresented rates -- by a literal interpretation of the results of the most famous study of it, over half of ftms have the broad autism phenotype (which denotes higher autism traits and gene loading than the general population) or higher, and almost 20% are diagnosably autistic
i think that could be an underestimate, personally, especially given more blatantly autistic ftms probably didn't participate in the study

Maybe a bit, but I've been said it's cute when I asper the ger out of stuff I'm interested in. I have this monologues that can go on for ages with lots of different view points on the sibjects at hand, and sometimes pointing out connections I've figured out.

I know! One of them is my boyfriend who always tries to get me going on stuff he's interested in. He even tries to have his friend and me talk about "the d33p stuff", but this guy isn't interested or is maybe scared that I'd crush him or something (which I'd never do, not on purpose atleast).

Ive been diagnosed (Aspy) forever ago, but now ive gotten so much help that I am basicly normal with bad anxiety.

yeah. only mildly though. I just have autistic """"traits"""" but not enough or badly enough for a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. With the old dsm I would probably be diagnosed with aspergers so I just say that I have aspergers
