Because people have short memories and the next tragedy, accident, sandal, great movie, etc... will take our attention away.

Plus we have our own problems. I can't really get worked up about most things I hear on the news since I live day to day, struggle to keep a roof over my head and fear losing my job every day. Feel bad for what happened at Pulse but no one is piling flowers at my front door.

Life goes on, it only affected a tiny percentage of people in this country.
