How to determine your sexuality?

Many trans people only realize their sexuality after transitioning or at least starting hormones

Don't worry about putting yourself into a neat category. It doesn't really matter. Just do whatever you feel like.

I was thinking of sexuality.
But gender wise it's more of a categorical thing since unless you're nonbinary you have to decide which path to take. But still like I'm mtf but I try not to think of it like "what gender am I internally?", instead I try to think of it in terms of what I want to do/what kind of life and body and relationships do I want to have. Hopefully that makes sense.

Is that really impossible if you are trans?

Shouldn't you see a therapist before actually transitioning? It is a huuge step and with some counseling you may find out it's not the most fitting path for you, or so i have heard.

For now i would suggest you try and have some good sexual experiences with guys. Forget about labels and focus on what feels good to you. After all there's a world of possibilities of just what you may come to define yourself as.

I guess my real problem is that im afraid of admitting i might like guys? Im actually really afraid of that, of what my parents, friends, would think of that ..

That's tough. In my case I'm blessed with having mostly queer/supporting friends. Don't think it's necessary to come out to my family really (cis, pan & polyamouros here)

Maybe a good start would be testing the waters around you then. Casually bring up lgbt related stuff, you know, see how they react. I would encourage trying to make new friends anyways, but god do I know that's not always easy.

Im actually very good at making friends. Sometimes it feels like im Jesus. And that i can make friends with ANYONE, even people that i dont like that much. Its weird.

But yes its hard not to be able to talk about these things with parents and my closest friends.

All my closest friends are male. I guess i need to find a whole new group of friends. Girls!

I have no clue. I will say don't use porn, porn can get you addicted to weird shit anyways and doesn't have to represent what you really like at all. Anyways just follow your gut. If you feel you don't like something, you probably don't. Sexuality is more emotion than physicality honestly and that's especially important to know if you have a dick.

Sexuality isn't like this clear "setting" in your brain. You can't really reduce your mind down and discover some hidden variable that stores/is your sexuality. Sexuality is much more fluid and ephemeral than that. Sexuality can change over time, and depends on the setting and situation and your mental state at the time. The media likes to portray it as some "switch' in the brain that gets set someway or another but this is incorrect. You're asking a question without a meaningful answer, so just accept that you don't know your sexuality right now.

But.. i just thought that.. its possible to know. I mean almost everybody knows who they are attracted too. I think its society thats messing with us. Its so weird. But youre probably right. Its pretty fluid and hard to define.
And if its true that trans people only discover their sexuality when they transition or get hormones, then there is no way for me to find out if i dont transition soon.
