It's okay. People post about it because the characters mostly consist of gay feminine aliens. I watch it with my girlfriend because she loves it. It's kind of cute, but it goes a bit overboard with the postmodernist moralizing. It has more depth than your average kids' show, but at the end of the day it's just a regular kids' show but with more gays.

I think it's great. I don't know what you're even trying to imply. It's nice to have a show with some lesbian overtones. I would have loved it as a kid. In the 90s I hated how there weren't any shows with female leads that weren't love interests (on toonami) or they weren't particularly strong compared to the male characters and had to get saved a lot. Powerpuff Girls was the closest. Sailor Moon was okay too, but it suffered from being a cutesie anime.

It's just nice. For what it is it's 10/10 for my tastes.

it very good show.
One of my favourites in a long time, but i get pretty angry when people just write it off as SJW tier trash. It definitely is not that. It's more story and character driven.

Also, in terms of it being a "kids" show, earlier episodes and some of the more inconsequential slice of life ones definitely are that, but episodes like Bismuth are what really set it apart from the crowd and aren't really for the younger crowd for the most part.

It's a character driven show with great bunch of personalities, nice music and gorgeous backgrounds. Steven Universe starts off rocky and is seemingly about a fat boy who gets magical powers from ice cream. It's progressed to that same boy being taught that sometimes murder is justified. They cry and sing a lot. A lot of the characters are dykes so it's fairly LGBT related along those lines. People who harp on it being about non binary tumblrkin are just being nonsensical. The gems are agender because they're an alien race of rocks; not humans.

It's a good show. This is Jasper, the best character from the show.
