You don't because it's not. Using "gay" negatively, even out of context, is still expressing negativity towards gay people, whether you mean it or not.
You can't just run around calling people niggers and then going "oh but I don't mean it in like the 'offensive term for black people' way. I'm using it out of context so it's fine!"
