Anything that's skilled, not some artsy, faggy, "it's a fabulous metaphor, darling" job, and isn't a doctor.
>Not doctor because I'm a med student and I'd rather not drown myself in the subject any more than I already do.

doctors are #1, unless you can tell they did it only for the money. they're the perfect mix of money, caring, normieness etc

SUCCESSFUL entrepreneurs would probably be #2, but they typically seem to have issues

#3 would just be anything else that is challenging and makes a lot of money. engineers WOULD be here but 99% of them are ugly manlets that have the shittiest personalities ever created.

Wooo gay docs ftw

Really though, I agree about doctor to doctor. The great thing is that you instantly understand each other's busy lifestyle.
But that's where the positives end. The most awful thing is that you both have a busy lifestyle.
And under the nice, kind visage of every doctor was the gunner that got them into med school in the first place.
Doctors don't need partners with money, they need partners who can be patient with a hubby who's also married to his work and can diffuse their feelings after a hard day.
On the plus side, docs bring home a lot of bacon and are usually very kind and compassionate people.
Date us. Please.

I wanna be a doctor. I'm still in undergrad, and I feel like I'm so clueless about things. How necessary are internships and extra curricular activities? I don't know if I can financially afford to take time off to pursue those things

>Don't even get the big money unless I go into lecturing on the side (which I plan to because it looks fun)
A-at least I help lots of people...
But yeah, basically this. I'd rather have a husband that can look after the kids while I'm doing some surgery, and whom I can come home to and crawl into bed with at about 2am while he's sleeping for post-work comfort cuddles.

As a junkie shut in nerd tranny with a passion for music:
1. Musician, because I want someone I can have jam sessions with
2. Drug dealer. Because I want someone who can hook me up with drugs and shares my love of drugs. Also always been attracted to bad girl/bad boy types
3. Videogame attention whore/lets player/pro gamer, because although I don't really play games anymore I can relate well to shitty anti social dorks and nerds also tend to be pretty kinky from a lifetime of porn exposure

That said my girlfriend is going to school to be a dental hygienist which isn't particularly attractive on the surface but is more functional because she'll be making enough for us both to live off of and she specifically went into the field so she'd have enough money to support my lazy neet ass and I could be her housewife.

Jobs count as extra currivulars too. I had a hard time affording everything too, so I found all the medically related work I could find. Professional research, scribing, in one job I was basically doing IT work and powerpoint making.
Extra curriculars are important, but of course be balanced. Research is important but never work for a professor you don't like. Work for a professor you would get along with on a human level.
Shadowing hours are hard to come by thesedays, but if you do volunteer work they will be very open to accepting you for shadowing.

What I had going into med school:
3.8 gpa
95% mcat (roughly a 35)
A job at the my colleges intramural department
Leader of a med in lit book club
Another job at an eye clinic making videos for showing of new technology
A thesis that was on its way, it was released after I applied. In the future I'll be on two publications head writer for one, again this happened after I applied so I could say it was happening but I didn't have it yet.
Volunteering at a free health clinic.

I know that sounds like a lot, and it is. Don't feel like you have to fit it into 4 years, most don't get in their first try like I did. I also didn't get into a mega prestigious school, I had an interview at Emory but they waitlisted me. I ended up going to MCG instead.

I hope that helps anon, hang in there.

All of my serious crushes have been Comp. Sci., Mathematicians, or Physicists.
But in all seriousness, anyone who is emotionally supportive, loyal, not a complete moron (so they can understand my work to some degree and talk about it), cuddly, and easygoing. When you're in a line of work that changes so rapidly and requires you to save lives on an almost daily basis (and watch some people die in front of you), it's nice to have a trustworthy, loving constant to go home to.

On my days off, I would pamper the shit out of my husband. He'd definitely deserve it for supporting and putting up with a doctor forever.

I am a psychologist. I work close to the academics world and also in clinics and whatnot (as a "shrink") so most of the people I am close with are from these sectors aswell. I gotta say, people from my area tend to be really down to earth, smart and generally interesting in someway or another. Not everyone, of course, but the people who love their jobs and what they do tend to be happy and are often in long, stable relationships (this two things somehow tend to go along). All of that to say that that is one of the very few professions that I actually like to found out about the other person that I'm seeing/chating because it probably means it's a nice person.
>>
>>6856398
Essentially the same except for competitiveness for residencies (you apply for the same ones mds do).
DO will almost certainly label you a future primary care physician, if you're okay with that its not a bad option. Also if your grades aren't as good as they need to be for md its a good option.
But if your grades are in order/mcat good/research or other extra okay then you should stay on an md track.

Atleast shoot for md, and make adjustments to DO if necessary. You have to jump through all the same hops anyway.
>>
>>6856702
My dream is to be a clinical pathologist, but I really don't know which path to take. I really don't want to deal with patients. All I want to do is be in a lab and look at tissues, blood, cells, etc

I'd say mechanic to go in line with my interests but generally doing mechanics for a job makes you hate it in the end.

I guess I'd like someone who does something that gives them a decent bit of free time to do stuff together with still, though that's unlikely in any real career.

Basically, it's not the money they pull in that attracts me, at all. Just whatever they have a passion for and wish to express that interest.
>>
>>6855767
That sounds really nice, I'd date you and love you even if you weren't a doctor. Are you handsome?

Do you live in UK?
>>
>>6858433
>Are you handsome?
That's subjective, based on what you find handsome. What would you say counts as good looking (and also what do you look like)?
Given that I always used to lock myself in the quietest corner of the college library during my A levels, there was a surprising number of straight girls who had crushes on me.

>Are you anon?
>I saw your grades on the rank tables.
>So, you're going to be a doctor, then... Lots of money in that...
>Are you single?
>>
>>6858509
I agree it is subjective, good looking is hard to define when you don't really have a type, but I use handsome as a broad term and playfully. For example, what you posted about showering someone with affection? That is desirable, loyalty is desirable, that matters more to me than looks, but not to be shallow, if you look like you have treacher collins syndrome I'm afraid I won't be able to perform in the bedroom. I like reserved men, that are calming because I feel at ease around them, it's a weird feeling like someone has pumped me full of sedatives or something, but it's nice and that is desirable, total introversion can be a bit frustrating so if a guy has a problem then I'd like to think he can just sit there and vent off at me about it and be comfortable doing so. I'm quite calm which most men I've met interpret as me being rude or standoffish, it's not meant like that.

I'm no Adonis. What is your type? Also you seem quite nice. Money doesn't interest me by the way, as in I'm no money, I'm naive and believe in loyalty, being there, honesty and all that jazz.
>>
>>6859231
Chiseled, hairless, Greek-god bodies are overrated. I'm guessing you meant my physical preferences, since I already listed my personality preferences (I forgot to mention that I'm not a fan of effeminacy or that overcompensating, dudebro/gym jock personality - they're tropes that get irritating fast).
I'm rather partial to chubby, hairy guys with beards who are taller than I am. For reference, I'm a chubby, hairy guy without a beard (until I start at Uni - parents are all "our house, our rules, no facial hair") who is 5'7". Race, penis size, activity levels, etc. don't matter to me, and just so long as you have good hygiene, aren't seriously unhealthy, and aren't... y'know... like you described with the face... (I'm being vapid again) that's fine by me.
My age or slightly older is also optimal (if you're younger, you shouldn't be here), and the less sexual experience you have, the better (again, for reference, here is a list of all of my sexual/romantic encounters: _______).
Also, because of medical EPPs, I'm not allowed anally/orally sexually active with anyone who has a blood-borne virus (HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis viruses, etc.) or HPV if I want to do the course in full, even if ultra thick condoms are used each time. It's just standard GMC and NICE guidelines.

I hate saying it, since it sounds egocentric, but my face is what people would call "conventionally attractive" at about a 7-8/10 (according to the opinions of non-relatives). I'm also one of the most racially ambiguous people on the planet (two people have assumed me to be Spanish in the past, every other person who wasn't told what I was guessed something different, ranging from Arabic to Latino to Mediterranean).

I'm definitely reserved, but I'd be happy to talk to my boyfriend about literally anything. I'm the same with money; if I can live comfortably with my income, I'm OK with that. (I'm also completely monogamous and loyal).

So... what are you like? I don't know much about you...
>>
>>6855358
Wow, you're an awful partner.
>>
Any job that is professional and successful but has a good work/life balance like a designer, project manager, manager. Doctors/Police/etc. are hot in concept but tend to be very consuming & stressful.

I'm a career Pastry Chef and that tends to get rave responses, random gifts of fresh baked goods are a near surefire way to get dick.
>>
>>6859501
I'm not chubby, I'm slim, swimmers build. I'm 6ft2 (seriously) so there's that, I'm slightly hairy but I shave my face. I too like cleanliness and feel that it is important. I don't have any blood-bourne viruses, I'm assuming you've had hep injections right? Due to your profession? I don't think you're being vapid, sexual attraction is important.

I too am monogamous and loyal, sex requires a strong element of trust between the two people engaging in it, most on here would disagree, they slut it about like it's nothing.

I prefer shorter than me, race not to sound like a dick but med/white skin is preferable to me, dark eyes are nice. Penis? I don't really mind so long as it isn't too big or too tiny.

What am I like? Tall, swimmers build, shaved face, hairy body. Not skinny but filled out, 6ft2 as I said, blue eyes with green/turquoise ring circling around and blending into the blue, so depending on what clothes I wear, they can look green (real green) or they can look grey, or they can look blue.

A question, I would assume you're not allowed to engage in frottage or docking with someone that has a blood-bourne disease right? Or is that allowed? Just curious.

My hair is darkish and my facial hair grows dark when I let it grow.

Chiseled-ish face, how old are you out of curiosity? You're in medical school so you're what early 20's? Or older/younger?
>>
>>6859819
Not had the hep injection yet; I get that at the start of October (I'm 18 so I'm entering my first year next month). I've had all of the other ones, though. Just going to say, though, if we were dating, I'm not sure if you'd stay too slim... I make pretty good food...
I definitely agree about the sex thing, though.

Don't worry about sounding like a dick about race; you're allowed to have racial preferences, just like you can have gender preferences. I'm kind of a light reddish-brown (somewhere around #E5B777 for hexadecimal colours, though that fluctuates depending on season and the amount of time I spend outdoors). I have quite dark brown eyes and hair. I think my facial hair grows the same colour (I'll have to see next month, since I've never gone past a stubble).
>I'm not describing my penis on 4chan
>It's fairly big, I think, but not really all that

I think we're allowed to frot and dock with them, since there's never been a documented case of anything but herpes and genital lice spreading that way, but I never looked it up (never seemed relevant to find out since I haven't even done so much as hold a guy's hand).

Are you a student or in work? What do you do/study?
