>transman names themselves after me
>>6849830
Are these the only transman names outside of Aiden, Jayden, Kayden and Raiden?
>>6849940
Lucas is really popular too.
>>6849830
What is with all the transguys named Sebastian?
>>6849956
That's my birth name lol
They can have it. I didn't like it anyway.
>>6849940
>Raiden
wat
>>6850019
they watched Black Butler
>>6850087
>>6849803
this hasn't actually happened has it
>>6849817
Pretty sure that Stephanie is the MTF equivalent of Aiden
>>6850346
don't you mean stefonknee?
>>6850371
Oh God, you had to bring her up.
>>6849817
Just fuck my shit up senpai-tier names
>Alyssa
>Allison
>Alexis
My boy name is Kaylan. I'm not 100% decided yet, but I kinda like Kayla (no, im not kayla) But I also like Ashley, but I feel like it's too much of a jump. Anyone have any input/suggestions?
>>6850889
they're already a famous transgirl named Kayla
>>6850273
Oh, god, you don't even know. Anyone have the Swedish MtF's Steam profile where she renamed herself Ritsu and said she was a lot like the K-On character? It was cringey...
>>6850889
>Kale
>>6850892
I wouldn't go so far as to call myself famous.
>>6850727
>Allison
>tfw gf wants to call me Allison because it's the name of one of her favorite songs by Elvis Costello
>family wants to call me Aubrey because they kept harassing me and I told them if they cared about me choosing a name so soon they should just name me themselves
>almost actually considering keeping my boy name just because I'll never actually pass, all my peers around my age are entirely chill with me being trans, and I'm super used to it and identify with it
Wat do
If my child came out as transgender I'd love her and support her. That said, if she then told me the name she chose was "Jazz" I'd beat her silly.
>>6851162
I like Aubrey. You'll get tired of your birth name eventually, and you probably will start passing at least more often eventually.
>>6851208
Yeah but my girlfriend hates the name Aubrey. And coincidentally my mom hates the name Allison. And I'm pretty neutral to Allison, Aubrey, and Adon(boy name), but like at least me and others are used to calling me Adon and I like it's backstory(dad named me after his favorite street fighter character). Also my gf always calls me her 'maiden Adon' and I think it's really sweet and I wouldn't want her to have to come up with a new pet name.
>>6851287
choosing a new name with the same first letter as your old name will haunt you for the rest of your life.
source - went from cole to christine
>>6850346
My birth name is Stephan, so it kind of made sense to go to Stephanie
>>6851287
>Adon
Cool name
>>6851162
>letting your gf choose your name
Y'all best be getting married, then.
I think you should keep with the Street Fighter theme. Have you considered Chun Li?
>>6852069
W-why?
Is it a bad idea to choose a new name that is super similar to my old one?
naming myself after a touhou character
>>6852725
oh weeb-hon that will end greatly :333333
>>6849817
There's nothing wrong or common about Emma fuck you
So I'm trying very hard to come up with a trans girl name that isn't overdone or a stereotype, what does legbutt think of these ones?
Robyn
Jaclyn or Jaklyn
Krystinn
Kaibryn
>Jessica Fletcher
>korra
>>6851287
If it's something as uncommon as Adon, then that might work pretty well. I was imagining it was like Connor or something indisputably male. And of course, what matters most is that you like it, etc, etc...
>>6851174
isn't jazz short for jasmine, though?
>>6850913
>kale
I don't want to be named after a bloody vegetable!
>>6850892
>>6851153
I already knew that (hence why i said i'm not kayla) but thanks for mentioning it just in case I didn't know :)
And fuck you kayla for stealing a potential name to use on here. Also, I honestly don't know your old name. Did it start with a K? And more name suggestion are welcomed of any type. Just want input.
>>6852069
Wait... how much so??? Fill me in.
I know someone irl who named themselves after Harley Quinn (not the Quinn part just the first name)
>>6853795
isn't Kevin Smith's daughter named Harley Quinn ?
Same shit but I know someone called ramona and just happens to be a huge fan of scott pilgrim.
Makes my skin crawl.
>>6849817
>>> ALICE
>>6850889
Kyle/Keven wasn't special enough?
>>6852869
> not a stereotype
> a Y in every single goddamn one
don't blame anyone but yourself when your chromo-somes become chromo-knowns
Would naming myself Buddy be too weird? It's not necessarily after him, I just think it's a good name.
>>6857290
Got a cousin named Buddy, he's a chill guy. People don't really give him shit about the name. I'd say go for it.
I'm considering trying out the name "Niel." It feels masculine with the potential of androgyny. My real name is just too goddamn feminine.
>>6857290
After Buddy Holly?
Make it your middle name, but have people call you that. Patrician as fuck.
>>6849788
>tranny watches anime
>still expects to be taken seriously
>>6857555
>trip person from /lit/
>on notorious gay website
Gosh, what will the lads think of this!
>>6854446
Could've been worse. They could have named their self "Flowers"
>waiting to see if your name is posted
>>6858221
Marisa? Is that ze?
Why does everyone get so flustered about "Alice"?
I have literally NEVER heard of a single real MtF with that name. The meme doesn't make sense.
Conversely lots of FtMs are genuinely called Skylar or some variant of Aiden.
I've only known two FtMs in real life. One is called Hayden and the other chose Jack but then later changed it to Skyler.
Anyone else notice how gay transmen and transbians seem to choose bad names at a much higher rate that other transpeople?
>Not naming yourself Tomyris
Best trans name strategy: Give yourself a name that was popular when you were born, but not earlier or later. http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager#prefix=&sw=both&exact=false
2nd best strategy: Pick a name so awful that no one would think you willingly gave it to yourself.
>>6858403
Literally the first trans girl I ever met was named Alice.
>>6858445
Same here
Maybe it's just one really, really active Alice?
>Mfw i just went to Sam to Samantha.
Thankyou parents for gender neutral name.
But then again
Sa
>Man
Tha
Too late now already chose that as my name, besides I respect my parents name choice.
I thought about Vessia or something edgy like that but I kinda wanna save that to torture my child. I actually kinda like it though cuz its unique. Although i think id only choose Vess for a guy and an actual girl name if i get a girl
>implying I will ever have a loving husband that legitimately loves and takes care of me.
>>6858403
>be me years ago, just moved to new high school
>realize i was FtM, after repressing my feelings due to dumb TERF shit I read and fell for about "detransitioned butch womynynynyns"
>only semi-out to parents
>school matches new students up with experienced students to get them used to school
>somehow get matched up with the only one other fucking trans guy in the school
>changed his name to the original name I wanted
>Ethan
Does Ethan count as an "Ayyden" name?
>>6849817
>>6857073
>>6858445
>>6858681
Hm.. I'm an Allison if that counts. I think getting called Alice is a bit disgusting, but I think Allison sounds both cute and mature. My boyfriend does call me Alley, hiowever. Who knows though. In my defense, my boyname was Allen before, so it just kinda made sense.
is kate weird
>>6859238
Yep.
>>6859242
how weird?
>when an mtf takes your birth name
triggered
I pass really well and still use my boy name. Beat that.
>>6859410
What was said boy name? Could be ambiguous and not matter.
>>6859410
Hi Alex.
"How did you pick your name?"
"I don't remember lol"
>>6852725
If you want to be subtle just use Marissa. If I encounter someone named udonge I'm going to flip shit.
>>6859619
it could also be Jordan or Hayden.
>>6849788
Who here /old name gen/?
>>6852169
S...stef from YouTube?
>>6852169
You sound like a potato
>>6850727 I picked Alyssa since my bestfriend as a child was named Alyssa and she was like my sister and we played together all the time and stuff and she was awesome. She got killed in an accident though when we were really little. I decided I was going to not kill myself and transition and I never really lived my life just like her and I figured it would be a sweet thing to do so I could live for us. I asked my mom before and my girl name was supposed to be Sage.
>>6860255
Thats really sweet desu.
Sage is dumb and sjw tier anyways.
>>6858900
Yeah kinda.
>Picked the name Tiffany.
> Always get told "you have such a pretty name".
>mfw I've made a terrible mistake
Tfw people mistake your birth name as a female one
>>6852725
Alice could be fine
Or Medicine
Or Ran
Or Shinmyoumaru
>>6853239
this lol
I have never met trans that have popular names. Only 'regular' ones.
I once asked my mother that what she would have named me if I were the opposite gender. I am going to use that as my second name.
As for a first name, I'll go with one of the names that has been circulating in our family for generations. Like my current names.
I was born in 1997.
Should I go with Alyssa or Olivia?
Any connotations, people you know who had the name, etc would be really helpful.
>Hons actually name themselves after Addams Family characters.
>>6859547
I don't wanna say lol but it's not ambiguous at all, very common guy name. I get asked about it constantly.
>>6861216
I like Olivia.
>>6858874
Hi. Would you like to talk?
>>6850889
you should honestly keep it, its pretty
>Tfw When my name is after character but I use excuse that it's after my grandma (which is true)
Connie works really well for me.
>>6862427
I'm gonna go by Consuelo Francis
Francis being a middle name.
>>6850273
I once dated a another transgirl that named herself after a Yugioh character, so yes, this has happened before.
>>6862330
Hm?
Um sure, kik or something?
>transgrill names herself after a pokemon trainer
It's me I'm talking about
>>6851162
>ALISON I SAID WE'RE SINKIIING
My also trans friend is called Max and I'm super jealous tbqh
>Seriously kinda wanted to name self Lain
apparently it's an actual name.
but a guy name.
which is a lie.
>>6849788
>transgirl names herself after an anime
>it's actually something simple and common like Karen
Is Gwen an okay trap name .-.
>>6867093
>Lain
Change it to Elain and go by Lain
What do you guys think of the name Wallace? I always liked the name growing up and still do but I'm afraid it'll be too stupid sounding in this day and age.
>>6871154
Don't come to Australia if you do, ya fuckin' Wally
>>6862660
Which character was it?
I chose a Scottish name because my female name is Scottish as well, though I'm not even white. I still don't know why my parents named me what they did. And no, it's not absurdly Scottish and weird sounding.
>>6850273
Probably Japanese trans people only.
>>6851162
"Aubrey" sounds like a wannabe version of "Audrey".
>>6871154
It's cool. Don't let people call you "Wally" though.
I like the name Anna, but my mom hates simple names, and wants me to go with Annabelle or something similar. Would that be too tranny, even if I went as Anna in person, just used Annabelle as what I put on paper?
I cant help but feel like one has to go on a psychedelic-fuelled shamanic journey to discover your real name
>>6873992
Go with something you won't feel embarassed by in 10 years unless you plan on being stealth around people who know your mother's name preferences well in which case still better go with something you won't feel embarassed by in 10 years
If you have to take one name and use another it's probably not the best choice
