That makes sense. I'm 19 and live with my conservative family who are regularly transphobic/homophobic/whatever.

I tried to come out once a few years ago and it went awful, and eventually for my own safety I guess I decided to tell them I wasn't trans anymore (a lie).

Flash to now, and every day is getting harder because I'm wasting my life as someone I'm not and don't know what to do :')

being independent and doing your own thing is probably the best option, unless you can find someone to live with or something like that to help split rent with and whatnot
staying there is not the best idea if you really want to go through with this
