Well if you study the origins of bipolar disorder you come to understand that it is caused by hormonal imbalance. And gender dysphoria has similar origins. So it is not surprising.

That said, everyone is different.
There is more than one cause of disease.
We still don't understand the complexities of the brain with any degree of certainty.
