One of the main arguments against minors having sex. Is that they lack the mental maturity. Yet there are also people that want young children to contemplate if they are a boy or girl. Then to start taking hormones and get surgery as soon as young as possible.

Now a bad experience with sex as a minor can be bad(duh), but you can get over it with out permanent harm. You start taking hormones and get your self cut. Then later decide it was a mistake, and you're screwed.

Something just doesn't compute about all this.

The other arguement is that transition is a medical treatment and therefore minors can consent.

Lupron has the health benefit of a reduced puberty. The age of consent is 16 here yet

Minors usually only get hormone blockers to delay puberty until they're old enough to decide (which in a sense is better than what cis kids go through, going through natural puberty can ruin your body just as much as hormones can). And even then it's only done with a doctor's permission.

There are many countries where the age of consent related to sex is really low. For example, in spain, it's 13, and you are considered an adult at 18, so that age is chosen in an arbitrary way related to the culture of the country. You dont really have to be that mature to have sex, at least within the eyes of the law of many countries.
