I bought some women's jeans and other nice (men's) clothes. I've been too anxious to even look at women's clothes for any appreciable period of time before, but this time I guess I managed to get into a better mindset. I even casually said they were women's jeans when the changing room attendant asked me if I was looking for the men's changing room (and made her uncomfortable I think).

Recovering from SRS in Thailand. The swellings starting to go down and it looks okay considering I'm only 2 weeks post-op and the stitches are still very visible. Dilating's getting easier and less painful too which is great.

I'm feeling much more confident and energetic now. Now I'm starting to plan my life beyond transition.

Is it a money issue or booking issue? If it's a booking issue Chettawut has basically no waiting list because he doesn't book more than a year in advance. Like if you were able to put it all together you could probably get it done next week.

Also if you're planning to have the Thai surgery technique and want an orchiectomy in the mean time you need to either forgo it entirely or have it done by the Thai surgeon because another surgeon might mess with the tissue. Being circumcised will also have a noticeable effect on the Thai technique. Thankfully though size of the erectile tissue doesn't play a part in your expected depth only the amount of skin (which can be compensated for with a skin graft anyway at an additional fee)

I'm not circumcised or anything so my surgery was normal. With the Thai technique (non-penile inversion), your foreskin will be used to form the labia (I forgot if was just the inner or outer though :P). The tissue that constitutes the foreskin is more sensitive and can possibly help in (minor) self lubrication. The surgeon can still perform a modified version of the surgery but the results won't be as great.
As for the interior the Thai surgeon will use the scrotal tissue and the skin graft if necessary assuring good depth. The only barrier for depth is just how much room they can safely make. I've got just under 6 inches but depending on how much room is in your body you might be able to obtain maybe another inch and a half.

The western technique (penile inversion) on the other hand uses the scrotal tissue to form the labia minora and majora meaning there will be more tissue but less sensitivity. The penile skin and erectile tissue are used to create meaning that depth is largely based on how big your penis is. This can cause issues for those who have experienced shrinkage of the penis from being on HRT for a long time.
If this is your preferred option and you have to wait a long time, I would recommend that you try to maintain the size by getting regular erections.

Please keep in mind that this is just a broad overview of the techniques used and each surgeon will have their own variances. The Thai surgeons Chettawut and Suporn have quite a lot differences between them, but the western technique is largely standardised and has been performed for a longer period of time.

Anyway, I have heard that Canada has some good surgeons so I guess your good in that regard. The only surgeon in Australia is relatively inexperienced. He's also quite strange (I've met him a few times, I think he has aspergers). Three years is also quite a long time I'm sure if you were frugal and enterprising you could save up for most any surgeon in that time.

I'm not too familiar with the British system but anytime I've heard it mentioned on the internet they've only spoken about local surgeons. I recommend you ask your provider. You may also want to check if Brexit will have any effect on coverage in the near future.

As for the type of surgery, you will only find the western technique in the UK. Suporn and Chettawut are the only ones in the world who use completely different techniques. They keep the precise details of the technique secret so it hasn't spread very far.

My surgery with Chettawut cost 360,000 thb. Skin graft is an extra 30,000 and if you HIV+ you will be charged 50% more. I recommend asking Som for a quote through their website. http://www.chet-plasticsurgery.com/. You will also need to factor flights, accommodation and meals into the equation.
