That has largely been my experience as well.

When I was around 11 or 13 years old I remember having a kind of curiosity about guys that wasn't attraction or even appreciation at first.
Also I think fear played quite a bit of a role in it for me as well at first. What I mean is this was a time in my life when I first heard about the concept of someone being gay and how bad that supposedly was.
So I wanted to make sure, to rule out that I wasn't gay. I wanted to make sure 100%.
So naturally I started checking out guys on the street, in school, anywhere. My theory was that if I don't find anything attractive about them I can be sure that I'm not gay and I can rest about this subject.
Little did I know that "don't think about the pink elephant" kind of thinking rarely works.
And surely enough, to my dismay, I did find certain features about guys attractive.

But it was very mild at first. I remember only liking very androgynous guys. I was quite repulsed by the side of hair and even slight muscularity. And don't even mention gay sex. I did watch a few clips and the few pictures but I was always repulsed by that at first.

It took me months, even years to appreciate the male form as much as I do today. Nowadays I really enjoy the the sight of manly man.

I haven't had this problem yet. Although I find many men attractive and very few girls (very very seldom), I don't find myself over-indulging in guys. It's rare that I felt I had 'too much' and even then I always reminded myself that I can at any time take a (however long) break from the dating/hookup scene. And occasionally I did.

I have a somewhat opposite problem: I would really like to have a stable level of sexuality/intimacy in my life.
