>Completely normal, masculine bisexual
I have to admit, all my close friends are female and I am kind of a tomgirl but I can't help it.
Why is it always in TV the gay guy has to be some flaming obviously pink hair gay kid with the girliest voice ever? When can we get a normal "gay" guy? anyone who can relate?

It's not bad, I don't find it repulsive or anything, it's just too stereotypical

Homophobia.
They have to make the gay characters ridiculous stereotypes, because anything else would require that they actually take gay people seriously and even worse, actually involve real gay people in the production process.

It's about representation. It's the exact same argument as "gay guys on TV are alway rich upper middle-class, white, cultured", but flipped. Though I myself don't think films always represents girly gay guys, if you look into it a bit deeper there are plenty of gay characters in shows and films that aren't flamboyantly gay at all. Feminine gays are quite common in girl shows and films, because these types of guys are usually the ones who also hang out with girls in real life.
