I'm a cis lesbian who is only attracted to biological females.

I think gender is so unimportant that people should be able to do whatever they want with it. Be it calling yourself male and wearing dresses, calling yourself female and wearing male clothes, even calling yourself a lesbian but having a penis. Outside of the occasional awkwardness that it creates it doesn't bother me if people want to be trans and want me to use certain gender terms for them.

However I also don't understand it at all. Learning that gender didn't matter was a significant part of growing up for me. But trans people seem completely obsessed with gender and gender expression, to the point where they have a very delicate sense of etiquette regarding it. I don't get that.

I also don't get things like parents telling their children that they need hormone therapies just because they don't behave like their own gender. That's a little too close to the shit you see in Iran.

Anyways that's getting a little off topic but that's my feelings on trans people. They seem kind of immature to me, like people who haven't learned a big lesson that used to be a huge part of growing up queer.
