probably. most people have a masculine and a feminine side. as a trans person, we're forced to express one of those for most of our life, and we admire certain parts of that expression.

but trans is short for transsexual, not transgender. gender is fluid, but sexual identity is not.

I mostly agree with you, and while one of the main problems is misinformation it seems like you also haven't read studies as closely as you should have.

They're people with a mental disorder that can't always be solved via therapy alone. While we lack understanding of its causes, the only treatment for extreme cases has been HRT.

Your issue is that there are many people transitioning due to confusion regarding their sexuality in general, and as we still lack an understanding of this, confused people end up going on message boards like this for anecdotal evidence. They are then misinformed by people who are trying to convince others in order to validate the decisions they made themselves.
