What's currently in your playlists? Recently, I've been on a hip hop kick.
I made a thread like this awhile back and had a pleasant conversation about Bright Eyes. Felt like doing it again.

>>6528407
Been listening to a lot of this
can anyone rec?
>>6528525
Good shit.
I've been listening to a couple of albums that I had not previously: Dopesmoker, Earth 2, and Amplifier Worship. They can be described as drone-ish metal, and I've enjoyed them so far.
>>6528550
As in all the people who think it's his worst album
Yeah, Fennesz is really great, Endless Summer is a pretty incredible album, definitely worth a listen
>>6528542
Some pretty good albums on there, man.
>>6528613
Power Corruption and Lies might be up your street
>>6528774
Love all three of those albums
>>6528613
>Modest Mouse
I approve. I've been listening to a lot of Deerhoof recently, and I'm digging them. You should check them out because it looks like we have a similar taste in music!
>>6528784
Oh yeah. Yeezus is his worst imo. And thanks for the recommendation.
>>6528833
I mean personally I'd argue that it's 808s or if you count Cruel Summer, that. All his albums have at least a couple great tracks though.
>>6528407
Right now drake one dance is my ish but i'll listen to anything but country
>>6528863
Are you aware that your taste in music is a literal meme?
>>6528863

I love how Drake can completely get away with wholesale cultural appropriation. A Jewish Canadian child actor is doing trap rap and reggaeton.

I generally dislike all music that isn't classical, but I'm completely obsessed with her new album. What a voice.

I listened to the title track and thought it was OK, don't really care enough to hear the whole thing.

Sorry to break the vibe but i'm curios, what appeal does songs like that and others have for you. Is the lyrical focus and the emotional connection you develop the reason, or is it something completely different.
For me i can get into this song and appreciate its form, but I don't quite like it the same as my personal tastes. Personally I like songs with less of a lyrical, or vocal focus and more a focus on the overall sound.
The best generalisation I can give you is ambient music, that is where my tastes lie.
Pleas don't read this as "your music is shit and i'm superior", I genuinely want to know why people like what they like,
"The Uncanny Valley" by Pertubator. Fantastic darksynth album.

A lot of Big Star and The Replacements, keep going over Chris Bell's posthumous Am the Cosmos release. When it isn't any of those, it's most often LCD Soundsystem, Depeche Mode and New Order for some reason.

Tfw no bf to listen to electronic music with because they are all older people that prefer instrumental music
Lorn, Haircuts for Men, a lot of oddly upbeat futurepop, and the new Orax album.

Some current faves, I've just been listening to whatever the fuck Spotify recommends to me for the past few days

Well for me if the song has lyrics. They have to be good ones. Then the song stops being about the melody and becomes about the lyrics. Basically since other than EDM, the melodies are the catch the listener. If you choose to put words in the song they have to be good ones. But then the song stops being about the melody and becomes about the words, then all the song has to do is keep up the good beat.
that's the way i see it anyway.
