>worst things to happen to society since crocs were invented
Crocs were unveiled in 2002, so I guess they were invented in 2001. So, 9/11, the Bush administration, the Iraq War, the failure of the Arab spring, the global economic crisis...

Life make so much sense now! thank you senpai.
>>
Third Wave has two main problems, from what I've glimpsed of it.

>Radically different (and sometime outright conflicting) ideologies marching under the same banner
>Poor self-regulation that allows extremist views/behaviors (die cis-scum, etc.) to dominant the discussion.

Stuff like examining privilege and challenging gender/sexual binaries are genuinely worth exploring. But the semantics of the conversation often leads to shit-flinging and frustration.
>>
Nobody else on the internet has a negative opinion of third wave feminism or feminism in general. It's only you, friend!

I'd add that one of their main issues right now is the fact that they've decided to carry the torch for every minority they can find. This creates massive issues when said minorities clash; like homosexuals vs muslims, or muslims vs regular feminism. They've created this narrative about minorities where you're not allowed to criticise them at all; though all this has done is polarise the public debate and make it impossible for them stay ideologically credible because they're forced to make a choice. One of the main choices being between acknowledging that middle-eastern culture (ie muslims) is deeply patriarchal and sexist, much more so than the culture of the dreaded white man, or keeping up the idea of pushing back against the percieved racists of the anti-immigration or even centrist camp to protect a demographic that doesn't care for them or their ideals. A demographic that more so than any other needs a strong feminist movement.

Fourth wave is worse.

You're not wrong that it appears to present a dilemma in some cases.

But there's a lot to consider when you start talking about international feminist movements, or how to simultaneously support and criticize minority groups without fueling xenophobia.

As for international feminist movements, I think it's important to understand that there actually are feminists in countries dominated by absurdly patriarchal cultures. Why aren't all feminists around the globe focusing their voices on the most horrifying of injustices? Probably because they're distracted by the stuff they deal with in their own societies, even if it seems petty by comparison. You also have a better chance of influencing change as a member of your own society/culture than trying to fix all the troubles of the world. Unless you pull an ISIL and resort to extreme, violent methods, you'll probably be ignored.

what does this have to do with /lgbt/?
>>
Not anymore. I used to be anti-feminist, then I realized anti-feminism is an ideology based around being butthurt which is what I accused feminism of being. I'm a feminist now. Crucify me.

You're definitely right in what you're saying on a global scale, but my grievances with the movement doesn't necessarily come from the inability of western feminists to support feminists in Saudi Arabia. It's western feminists' inability to support women in marginalised communities within the western world.

Take my city for example; it's a standard european city with about a million inhabitants and as such it also has a sizable immigrant minority that mainly lives within a few select suburbs outside of the city proper. In said suburbs it's not strange to see immigrant men, especially young, second-generation ones, harassing other immigrant women who for some reason or another don't wish to wear a hijab or dress in a way that's deemed appropriate by their conservative culture. What happens here is that these issues are largely ignored and the few female journalists or political commentators who try to shine a light on things are second-generation immigrants themselves. It's not so much betraying the women of foreign countries, but the women who are still forced to live by the code of said foreign country whilst residing in what should be a liberal, western nation where you're free from religious and social persecution. What makes it worse is that the feminism movement is very much tied up with the pro-immigration left, so in their strive to rescue people from these oppressive countries and societies, they're doing very little to actually work against the aspects of the immigrants' culture that made said society oppressive in the first place.

well yes. Fuck them all with hentai pig monsters.

Feminism is good if you only look at it as an idea, the people though can be some of the most retarded, tackling trivial non issues

>manspreading
>microagressions
>video gaymes r sexist!

And thats just some of it, there is so much misinformation spread in the name of Feminism
>>
I do, and the vast majority of other chans do, not just neo-nazis. The sjw have ruined the left.
>>
>>6491113
It's certainly the worst thing to happen to feminism.

I mean, before the tumblrinas started throwing fits, there was equality. Now hate for them has turned into actual misogyny, so they've actually set back their own cause.
It also means I have to find out if someone's a goddamn feminist before talking to them, and means periodic purges on facebook when someone goes on a social justice or socialist rant.

Are women as a whole now a part of lgbt?
>>
>>6492866
They've always been not just a part, but the leaders anon. No one has suffered more throughout history than women as a whole, no one.

With their courageous leadership at Stonewall, at the pride parades, at city council meetings to demand equal treatment, at the comments section on internet articles, women have lead the way for a better tomorrow.

The least LGBTW can do is show them some gratitude.
